Full Scholarship for the Art Institutes and Americans for the Arts announce ninth annual Poster Design Competition Winner

The Art Institutes and Americans for the Arts is a non-profit organization with the main intention of developing arts and its education. This organization conducts competition relating to arts like cooking, drawing, fine arts and poster making. The Art Institutes and Americans for the Arts announce ninth annual Poster Design Competition was made by the organization. It also mentioned that the registrations would take place from the month of February 2012. This is a competition, which is held for high school kids to bring out the talent in them. The main prize for this competition is a full scholarship to study in the art college listed with the organizers.

The main theme of the poster making competition is ‘you can create tomorrow’. The contestants who are eligible for this competition are high school, senior students as well as high school graduates from the countries of Canada, United States and Puerto Rico. The competition will be held under two categories of students namely high school seniors and high school graduates. Thus this competition is fare and square as the adults and the kids are not mixed together.

Sculptures in clock by Dominic Wilcox

Dominic Wilcox created a series of miniature sculptures based on the clock. Attachingsmall figurines of the arrows of ancient mechanical clock, Dominic has created an animated scene of daily life. What people should understand is that miniature artworks require big work and training, similar like for party poker. You need patience and big experiences.

From Dominic’s Blog: I have a new big project to show. I’ve put tiny figures onto watch hands in order to create mini animated scenes. I had the idea last year during mySpeed creating project, but decided it was too good to rush. 8 month later I showed a prototype to Dezeen and they commissioned me to make a collection. The watches use customised model figures and I also made objects, like a miniature looted LCD tv. The glass domes were specially made to fit by Wearside Glass Sculptures in my home town of Sunderland at the National Glass Centre.

The watch sculptures will be exhibited at Dezeen Space in Shoreditch, London from 17 September to 16 October.

That was first video that Sprint launches into 2D and 3D. Daniel Rozin is an artist, educator and developer, working in the area of interactive digital art. As an interactive artist Rozin creates installations and sculptures that have the unique ability to change and respond to the presence and point of view of the viewer. In many cases the viewer becomes the contents of the piece and in others the viewer is invited to take an active role in the creation of the piece. Even though computers are often used in Rozin’s work, they are seldom visible.

Sacha Goldberger decided he would take on a very interesting project. He assembled a team who helped him create an outside studio at Bois de Boulogne, a park located near Paris that’s 2.5 times the size of New York’s Central Park. He stopped joggers, asking them for a favor – would they sprint for him and then pose right after for his camera? Many obliged. Out of breath, these joggers showed an overwhelming amount of fatigue on their faces.

Next time you’re wondering if you have enough money to buy art materials, remember Ron van der Ende. This Dutch artist specializes in the creation of sculptures using old, painted wood he finds on the streets. He basically takes the pieces he finds apart and then reassembles them into different objects. Incredibly, the sculptures don’t have to be repainted!

A Tiny World in a Bottle

Tokyo-based artist and architectural model maker, Akinobu Izumi, has created the series “A Tiny World in a Bottle”. Using intricately cut paper, little pieces of cork and when necessary, liquid paraffin for a floating effect, he fills thumb-size bottles with creatures, ships and curious scenes. He sells a variety of these miniature works of art in his Etsy shop.

The World’s First Transparent Car

It’s the world’s first transparent car. The unique 1939 Pontiac Ghost Car is a show car equipped with plexiglass panels which allows for that see-through look. Originally built for the 1939-1940 New York World’s Fair as part of the Futurama exhibit, the Ghost Car was recently sold at an auction for an undisclosed amount. (Its estimated worth is $475,000.)
